A loan of $950 helped a member investment in the purchase of small cakes for resale.

Mujeres Triunfadoras Group's story

Veronica D. M., who we see seated in the photograph, is 31 years-old and lives with her partner and her young, 5 year-old daughter. Veronica forms a part and is the treasurer of the group "Mujeres Triunfadoras" (Winning Women), along with 7 other members. The members of the group are all residents of the El Carmen area in the district of Carabayllo.

Veronica specializes in sales, and takes advantages of seasonal products to earn money. During the whole year she sells beauty products, but now that we are near Christmas time she will invest the loan funds in the purchase of small cakes, which she will then sell to relatives, friends, and her husband's coworkers.

Victoria has been working since a very young age. At the age of 5 she helped her mother sell sodas, and then, following her example, at the age of 12 had her own independent business and added a juice stand. With this job Victoria helped her parents with the purchase of her school supplies when she was a student. Today her sales pay for the cost of education for her daughter who studies in a private school.

In this group: Dora Angelica, Marco Aurelio, Juliana Isabel, Veronica, Hernan Luiz, Violeta, Ana Maria, Jesus Elvira
