To making a living, Q. operates a family member's recycling business in which he hauls away junk and other waste material for local businesses and community members. Q. has been engaged in this business for over 3 years and earns approximately 2.500.000 VND a month from these activities.
In 2004, Q. joined SEDA to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Q. has successfully repaid a previous loan of 4.452.000 VND from SEDA. She used her previous loan was used to purchase additional scrap metal to sell.
She is now requesting a new loan of 5.014.000 VND that she will use to purchase additional scrap metal to sell. This will be Q.'s 8th loan from SEDA. Q. plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve her family's living conditions.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals.
