A. Tévi Julienne was born around 1971 in Tori-Bossito in the south of Bénin. Married to GBENOU Pascal, a painter, Tévi Julienne is the mother of 2 children, both enrolled in school. Besides these children, Tévi Julienne is raising another child. The couple has been living for 10 years in Cocotomey, not far from Cotonou, economic capital of Bénin. The family's living expenses are borne by both Tévi Julienne and Pascal.

Tévi Julienne stayed in school up to high school. For almost 6 years, she has been selling maize and porridge (made with maize flour) accompanied with fritters (made with wheat flour). Tévi Julienne has also added the sale of manioc flour and peanut cookies to her business. Tévi Julienne does her buying in Dantokpa, international market of Bénin, and in Glazoué in downtown Bénin. To bolster her business and put aside more savings so as to help her husband support the family, she is requesting her first ever loan from ALIDé.

About Alidé

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients. For more information, please refer to Alidé's partner profile page.
