Maruja is 47 years old and lives in her own home with her husband and their children. For 20 years, she has been making embroidered skirts and continues to do so with great dedication and commitment so that her customers remain happy. Maruja performs her work in the comfort of her home and sometimes with the help of one of her daughters, which helps speed up the process. However, depending on the complexity of the design, some embroideries can take a month to complete.

Maruja is pleased that her embroideries command a good price because it reflects the quality of her work and motivates her to continue. In the future, she would like to replace her tools so that she can complete more pieces at a faster rate of production.

Maruja is receiving her seventh loan with MFP. She is one of the long-standing members of her Communal Bank. The money she requested will be used to purchase embroidery materials such as thread, cloth, and a sewing frame. In addition, Maruja would like to start a new business selling firewood, so part of the proceeds will be used to buy timber in large quantities.
