Cristina A. is 38 years old and married to her husband, Felix. She makes chicha (a beverage made from fermented wheat) and is a dairy farmer who produces milk from her three cows. She is a very hard-working and responsible woman, having started to work from a very early age with her mother who did the same kind of work in Mallco ranch.
Her mother died over 5 years ago and now Cristina has two small children. She strives to provide them with a good education and is always watchful of them especially since one of them has a learning disability so she is particularly focused on this child.
The loan she is requesting will be used to buy a plot of land on which she can build a home for her children since the house they currently occupy was actually her mother's and her siblings are asking her to vacate so they can sell it and divide the sales profits among them. She hopes in the future to be able to secure an additional loan to buy more cows so that she can earn increased profits and improve her quality of life.
