El Grupo Solidario El Labrador (“The Jointly Liable Farmers Group”) has two members who struggle each day to get ahead, Francisco R. Q. and Haydalina R. Q.. Both have been in the same business on their own for a long time. Francisco has a lot of friends in his district which is a big help for him since when it is time to butcher his pigs he always receives a much more favorable price.

Previously, he didn’t have much production because he didn’t have sufficient capital, but, noting that his demand increased, he decided to work with Haydalina and together their business is growing by means of financing. Currently, they are applying to Fundación León 2000 for a loan that will be of help to them in their business.

Ambos tienen la misma actividad económica, ellos tienen mucho tiempo con este negocio ya que fueron con esfuerzos propios. Francisco tiene muchas amistades en su comarca por lo que es de gran ayuda para él, ya que cuando sale a buscar sus cerdos para el destace siempre obtiene un precio mucho más favorable. Anteriormente no tenía mucha producción porque no tenía capital suficiente, pero al notar que su demanda aumento entonces decide trabajar con Haydalina y juntos fueron creciendo por medio de los financiamientos. Ya que en la actualidad recurren a Fundación León 2000 en busca de un financiamiento que les sea de ayuda para sus negocio

Fundación Leon 2000 began operations in 1993 as the first microfinance institution to serve the western part of Nicaragua, a country which continues to be one of the poorest in the western hemisphere. Fundación Leon 2000 works to further the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises through credit services and management, applying the best credit industry practices and technical expertise. Additionally, Fundación Leon manages several business and financial education programs in the community, specifically for young entrepreneurs and at-risk youth. Fundación Leon 2000’s group of experienced and dedicated employees works in 7 offices in Leon, Chinandega, Chichigalpa, Somotillo, Jinotepe, El Sauce, and Nagarote and serves several thousand clients (the majority of whom are women).
