Jose is a small farmer who grows vegetables and flowers to be are sold in the city of La Paz. He is also involved in milk production. Jose has two children who are in school. His wife collaborates in the household business. He lives in his own house, located in the community of El Palomar within the City of La Paz.


He needs the loan to buy a medium quality milk cow, in order to augment milk production and increase the family's income. This is his first credit with IMPRO. An evaluation qualifies Jose for approval of the loan.

Jose es pequeño agricultor de verduras y flores los cuales lo comercializa en la ciudad de La Paz; también se dedica a la producción de leche. Tiene dos hijos los cuales están el colegio su esposa colabora con los quehaceres de la casa. Vive en casa propia y esta ubicada en la comunidad de El Palomar de la Ciudad de La Paz.

El crédito lo destinara para la compra de una vaca lechera de mediana calidad para poder aumentar la producción de leche e incrementar sus ingresos familiares.

Es el primer crédito con IMPRO, la evaluación realizada califica para la aprobación del préstamo solicitado por Jose.

About IMPRO

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
