Nelly

Nelly is a cheerful, 38-year-old woman who lives with her partner and father of her three children, who live at home. Since childhood she has grown bananas, an activity she inherited from her parents, from whom she also learned how to care for and clean the plantations. Nelly uses the droppings of birds from the farm for the earth, because it is very effective and results in the uniform growth of all her fields. At the end of each month, she sells the product by the kilo out of her farmhouse. She prefers to sell this way because she can control the weight more easily; when she has sold by arrobas (12 in 12 kilos), she has been tricked easily. Nelly is very happy with her work as a farmer and even happier that her crops generate very good earnings to support her household.

This is her third loan with MFP and she is pleased to belong to a communal bank, because in addition to loans, she can also keep her savings there. The money that she seeks now she plans to invest in the purchase of island guano (from vultures) and in the preparation of the farm where she will sow her next crop.

Nelly es una mujer muy alegre de 38 años, vive con su pareja y padre de sus 3 hijos, con los que vive en su casa. Desde su infancia se dedica al cultivo de plátanos; tal actividad la heredó de sus padres, de quienes también aprendió las tareas para el cuidado y limpieza de sus plantaciones. Nelly usa el guano de ave de corral para sus tierras, pues es muy efectivo y le permite un crecimiento uniforme de todos sus platanales. Cada fin de mes, comercializa su producto desde su misma chacra vendiendo por kilo, prefiere hacerlo así porque puede contralar mejor el peso, ya que las veces que ha vendido por arrobas (12 en 12 kilos), con mucha facilidad la engañan. Nelly se siente muy feliz de ser agricultura y más aun que mediante sus cultivos se genera muy buenas ganancias para el sostenimiento de su hogar.
Este es su tercer préstamo con MFP y se siente muy contenta de pertenecer a un banco comunal, porque aparte de los créditos puede tener sus ahorros. El dinero que ahora solicita lo piensa invertir en la compra de guano de isla (de los gallinazos) y en la preparación de la chacra donde hará su próxima siembra.
