The Alemania group is characterized by being very communicative. They always meet to talk about business or the economic situation. The president has a lot of expectations as this is the first time she has had a position of this magnitude. Carlos Luis is the only male member. He feels accepted the same as the others. He has expectations in his recycling business. He is putting those into practice in our city. The president makes handicraft pictures. The rest of the members have activities like selling food, selling fish, and selling auto replacement parts. Some have stands on the street, and others have stores they rent. There is competition selling fish, but the member is confidents of her abilities to sell. As far as food sales go, the women have regular customers. The members will increase their merchandise according to their businesses. For example, those dealing with handicrafts will buy fabric, wool, and frames to make handicraft pictures. Those selling food will buy wholesale ingredients, etc.

This group is undertaking their first cycle, but most of the group has experience with communal banks. They know each other, and they have confidence in each other because they are from the same neighborhood.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
