Uch B., 50 years old, who is the good father blessed with five children. Uch B. earns a living as a domestic construction worker; he is always hired by people to build their new house. His wife’s name is Mrs. Ouch Ny, 52, who is a rice farmer, and who appears in the picture over. She also books the neighbor’s rice crop and she will harvest and sell them when they are matured. Uch B. requests a loan for his wife to use as capital in order to book more rice crop from other farmers.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
