Isaura Isaías Machalela was born in Maputo, Mozambique. She is 43 years old, married, and the mother of two. Her children are 15 and 10 years old and both in school. She studied through sixth grade in the old school system and stopped when she became pregnant. She takes care of her two children only.

In 1996 Isaura's husband, who works for the national ministry of defense, was transferred and he, Isaura, and their children left the city of Maputo for Boane. They live in her husband's barracks in the military area of the city.

Isaura is a mobile shrimp vendor. She learned how to conduct this business with friends six years ago. She does not have any employees and works ten-hour days. Now she can buy 10,000 MT (meticais)'s worth of shrimp, which after she sells it, earns her a profit of approximately 5,000 MT. This amount, plus the amount her husband earns, supports the family, and she is able to put some money in a savings account.

With the loan of 10,000 MT Isaura intends to invest in diversification of her products by purchasing squid and crab. Her largest challenge/goal is one day to buy a bigger freezer than her current one, so she can preserve her products better. Her dream is to construct a small home one day.

Isaura learned about Hluvuku (Kiva's Field Partner) through its employees. This is her second loan with the institution. She previously received a loan of 5,000 MT, which she used to invest in her business and which she repaid successfully. She has committed to continuing to pay properly and be able to access future loans.

Isaura Isaías Machalela nasceu na cidade de Maputo, tem 43 anos de idade, casada e mãe de dois filhos de 15 e 10 anos de idade, ambos vão a escola, estudou ate 6ª classe do antigo sistema de ensino e parou de estudar por motivos de gravidez pois teve que ir ao lar. Não sustenta mais ninguém para alem dos filhos.

Em 1996 Isaura saiu da cidade de Maputo para Boane junto com o marido e filhos, por motivos da transferência do marido que e funcionário do ministério da defesa nacional. Vive na casa do serviço do marido no bairro militar.

Isaura é vendedora Ambulante de camarão, aprendeu a fazer o negocio em Boane com as amigas a 06 anos atrás, não tem empregado e chega a fazer 10 horas diárias, actualmente tem capacidade para adquirir camarão no valor de 10.000,00mt, quantidade que depois de vendida consegue um lucro de aproximadamente 5.000,00mt, com o qual, somando com o valor que marido da, sustenta a família e consegue poupar algum através de poupanças bancárias.

Com o empréstimo de 10.000,00mt pretende investir na diversificação dos produtos no seu negócio adquirindo lulas e caranguejo. O seu maior desafio é de um dia poder adquirir um congelador maior que o que usa agora para poder conservar melhor os seus produtos e sonha em um dia construir uma barraca.

Conheceu a Hluvuku graças a mobilização feita pelos gestores da mesma, este é o segundo empréstimo da Isaura na instituição. Já se beneficiado de empréstimo no valor de 5.000,00mt que investiu no negocio, tendo reembolsado sem problemas e compromete-se a continuar a pagar bem para poder aceder a outros empréstimos.
