Shamsaddin S. has raised cattle and farmed for fourteen years. With three children and the responsibility of providing food for his home, he has been able to improve his family’s financial situation thanks to the excellent care that he has given his animals.
Today Shamsaddin finds himself in need of purchasing calves to raise in order to be able to take greatest advantage of raising and selling them when necessary. For this reason he is obtaining loan in order to obtain these animals and raise them so that in time they can be used to support his family.
Aqroinvest Credit Union was founded by a group of 32 Imishli farmers in 2001, and has grown to become one of the largest credit unions in Azerbaijan. It boasts a portfolio of nearly $5 million and is wholly owned by its more than 3,500 borrowers, as of December 2011.
