Rodelet S. is a single father with two small children. This hardworking family man owns a boutique where he sells cold drinks, snacks, sugar, oil and a variety of other small household items. He attributes the recent development in his area to Esperanza’s work and is happy to participate in the process. He would like to see his business advance and create a more stable economic situation for his children.

Rodelet S. is one of three representatives of the group “Nou Solid”, or "We are Solid", Bank of Hope. The group is made up of 15 men and women entrepreneurs. The group is very excited about receiving their first loan from Esperanza. After hearing so many good things about the work that other associates have been doing with their loans, the day has finally come for the Nou Solid group to have their own experience. On behalf of Nou Solid, Rodelet, and Esperanza we thank you for your support.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
