Sok Y. is a 56 year-old clothing vendor living in Kampong Chhnang Province. She sells clothing for men and women from her store in the local market. Sok is married with seven children; five of whom are married and the others are single and are working. Sok Y. is an energetic woman who never wastes time. Sok will use her loan to replace the wall of her house that is broken.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
