Nou P. is 20 years old and sells fruit with her old mother in Battambang province. Her mother is shown at home in the photo. Nou’s business has been around for about two years and she makes a combined US$5 every day.
Selling fruit has been a difficult business, as there is high inflation and weather conditions have not been conducive to a good growing season. Nou is asking for a loan of US$1,200 to expand her fruit stand. She sees this investment as an opportunity that will enable her to increase her daily income.
