Abena is twenty-five years old. She is married and has given birth to two children, both in school. She lives with her husband and children in a rented apartment in a town called Wiawso in the Western Region of Ghana. Wiawso is a commercial and farming town. Abena is a trader. She runs a cold store. She sells at the local market and supplies to other retailers and food vendors in her community. Abena buys her goods from nearby towns. She has been in business for three years and wants a loan to buy cartons of fish in bulk to expand her business.
