Jacinta owns a small shop in Kisumu where she sells blouses, skirts, shirts, pants and coats. She has requested her fourth loan from SMEP for KES 80,000 in order to increase her stock from markets in Nairobi and Busia. Jacinta’s shop is a roadside stall, not a permanent structure, and therefore business is often disrupted by rain. She would therefore like to one day move her business to a permanent shop in the city center. Jacinta is a mother of a 5-year old girl and describes herself as hard-working and polite.
