Kong S., age 31, is married and resides with four of her children in Takeo province, Cambodia. All the children are students.
Kong has a business selling chickens in the local market, earning approximately US$3 of profit per day, while her husband works collecting palm juice to refine it to palm sugar. He typically makes about US$3 as well.
Their standard of living has improved since they have had these businesses so they want to have a loan to expand their businesses. This will provide the family with more income and also will enable the children to take a higher class.
