A loan of $1,550 helps a member to buy clothes and shoes in bulk from South Africa to sell at her shop.

Star Fish Group's story

Each morning Cecilia navigates through rows of tables with different clothes and shoes displayed in order to get to her shop. The market is always full of life, with customers moving about who are attracted by the beautiful clothes and loud music.

Cecilia sells men’s and women’s clothes that are trendy and attractive to young people. She leaves the comfort of her home twice a month to sleep in an open space in South Africa while she spends two days restocking, thus allowing her to make a living on behalf of her family. Cecilia is a 41-year-old married mother of three children. She resides in Chitungwiza and operates a business of selling clothes that she acquires from Mozambique, Zambia, and South Africa.

Cecilia’s portion of $500 will be used to acquire clothes and shoes in bulk from South Africa that she can sell at her shop.
