Khan C. is 29 years old and lives in Phnom Penh City where he earns a living selling used goods locally. He owns his bicycle which he uses to buy used goods around his community. His wife is a local farmer. She also stays at home to look after the housework. This couple was married years ago but have no children. Khan C. will be using his loan to purchase a motorbike which he will use to support his business transportation.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
