Clara is 53 years old, is married and lives with her husband and 3 children in the town José Olaya, in the city of Chiclayo.

For two years she has had an internet cafe in a room in her house, as well as a PlayStation that she also rents and a small grocery store— she sells candy to the people who use her services.

The idea of this business came from the needs of the students in the neighborhood as they need to use the internet to do their schoolwork. Since the economic condition of the families in the area does not allow them to have this service in their homes, many students visit her cafe frequently.

She wants to buy a paper ring binding machine, give maintenance to her computers and to buy some new furniture designed for the internet cafe since what she has is not suitable. This is the reason for her loan request for 1500 soles.

Her greatest wish is to expand her business by buying a photocopier to continue supporting her home and in the future, to provide her children with a quality education.

This is the second time that Clara has received a loan from Kiva’s field partner and has shown to be punctual and responsible in her payments, thus, she is regarded as a good customer.
