Choeun C. is a youngest man 21 years old and married father. He was married to his wife for years ago and they have no child. He is currently owned a medium size of farmland that was inherited from his grandparents since he is still not married. He cultivates a various crops to earn a living. He also plants rice, fruit, and other vegetables which he will harvest and sell his matured productivities to buyers during the past three months after he grows. His wife stays at home to hold housework and also works on the farm actions. Recently, Choeun C. faces a small problem that he lacks some farming supply. This obstacle, he is therefore applying for a loan to purchase a cultivating machine which he uses to plow his farmland. In addition, he will rent out a new machine to other farmers for fees.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
