A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a tent for her shop in order to expand her working place.

Torfa's story

Torfa is a 54-year-old Palestinian refugee, and a married mother of four children. She works hard to improve herself through running her own sweets production and sales shop since 1987. As a refugee, she didn't have the chance to choose her own business; most Palestinian refugees living in Lebanon have limited access to several businesses, so they find themselves surrendering to the fact that it is either this business or nothing else.

She's applying for a loan from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua in order to buy a tent for her shop so she can expand her working place.

Torfa wishes to expand her business and replace her current shop with a wider one in the future.

This loan is special because:

It benefits refugees who have been marginalized.
