A loan of $2,000 helped to increase and diversify the number of birds he has in order to increase his business sales.

Mohammad's story

Mohammad is a 28-year-old married father of two children. He has been selling birds since 2011. To improve his family's standard of living and cover their increasing daily living expenses, he also works as an employee distributing products with a limited monthly salary.

He is applying for this youth loan from Kiva's field partner Al Majmoua to increase and diversify the number of birds he has in order to increase his business sales.

He is a second-time borrower from Al Majmoua, and he has proven to be an upstanding person. He invested his previous loan in paying for car maintenance expenses, which is necessary for his transportation.

Mohammad is looking forward to opening a bird retail shop in the future, instead of running his business from his house.

This loan is special because:

It targets youth in a region where opportunity is scarce.
