Amidou
Mr. Amidou S. is 41 years old, married, and the father of six children.  He lives with his family in Noumousso, a district in the city of Kadiolo (in the 3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). 

Mr. S. has been in commerce for six years.  He cleared his own way and now has a shop where he sells various consumer goods, in addition grains.  Experienced and credible, he runs his business with wisdom and serves his ever-growing customer base. 

To satisfy his more and more numerous customers, he is collaborating with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso.  He is on his fifth individual loan.  All his previous ones were settled.  With the present loan, he intends to buy thirty 50-kg sacks of rice, five 100-kg sacks of sorghum, and ten 50-kg sacks of sugar.  He stocks up in Kadiolo and then sells these goods retail to customers composed men, women, and particularly civil servants.

With this loan, he envisions realizing a monthly profit of 80,000 francs CFA that will be used essentially to increase his business fund, to help with family expenses, to cover the loan interest payments, and to invest the rest in his business.

Monsieur Amidou S. a 41 ans, marié et père de six enfants. Il vit avec sa famille à Noumousso, un des quartiers de la ville de Kadiolo (dans la troisième région administrative de la république du Mali).
Monsieur S. est dans le domaine du commerce il ya six ans. Aujourd’hui il s’est frayé un chemin et dispose d’une boutique où il vend divers articles de consommation en plus des céréales. Expérimenté et crédible il mène son activité avec discernement et sert sa clientèle qui ne cesse de croitre.
Afin de satisfaire cette clientèle de plus en plus nombreuse, il collabore avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso. Il est à son cinquième prêt individuel , tous les précédents se sont bien dénoué.
Avec ce prêt, il compte acheter, 30sacs de 50kg de riz, 5 sacs de 100kg de sorgho et 10 sacs de 50kg de sucre. Il s'approvisionne auprès de commerçants grossistes à Kadiolo avant de les revendre en détail à une clientèle composée d’hommes, de femmes et surtout de fonctionnaires.
Il envisage réaliser avec ce prêt un bénéfice mensuel de 80 000 FCFA qui sera utilisé essentiellement pour augmenter son fonds de commerce, contribuer aux dépenses familiales, payer les intérêts de son prêt et investir le reste dans son activité.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
