Sra. Marga Angelica Alayo De Garcia is 51 years old and lives in the District of Usquil, Otuzco Province, Department of La Libertad, Perú. She is a member of the Communal Bank “Cachanchugo II”.

This entrepreneur completed her elementary school education. Her parents did not let her continue her schooling and taught her how to work the fields, plant crops, harvest corn, herd the sheep, feed the pigs, etc. She is married and has three adult children. Her husband and children provide her a monthly stipend so that she can visit the doctor when she is ill and buy medicines.

Marga operates a grocery store out of her home where she sells rice, sugar, oil, juice, eggs, sodas, toilet paper, noodles, etc. To purchase food products for her store, she travels from Usquil to Trujillo where she can buy products in bulk to increase her profit margin. She used her first loan of 300 soles to make a chalkboard to place outside of her store listing the product names and prices.

Her current loan of 800 soles will be used to buy more products in Trujillo such as rice, oil, soap, toothpaste, sugar, juice, toilet paper, etc. Marga dreams of expanding her store and selling more products.
