A loan of $1,200 helps a member to restock groceries for her tuck shop.

Glp Group's story

Patience is a 34 year old lady staying at Dama-falls suburb in Ruwa. She runs her tuck-shop like an expert. She helps customers purchase what they need, restocks and maintains order, and keeps track of her business expenses with precision. This image of professionalism is a far cry from where she was years ago, when she had no idea of even how to check the expiration date on a can of fruit.

Patience comes from a poor neighborhood in the country where the majority of the population live in poverty and without any formal education. Patience did not entertain many hopes for her future up until she met a friend who introduced her Thrive Microfinance. She used profits from a previous loan to take care of her family, and she restocked groceries from her tuck shop with her loan portion.
