S. is a single woman, 22-year-old, who currently resides in the best territory of Siem Reap town, in Cambodia Country. She is a local chef. She is always hired by neighbors to cook meals for their wedding parties and their other ceremonies. She now lives with her older father who appears in the picture above. Her father works fishing in and around Tunle Sap Lake. S. will be used her first loan to buy additional fish tools, such as nets and traps for her father's fishing activities.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
