A loan of $800 helped to complete payment of his motorcycle.

Shakibu's story

Shakibu, age 30, is polite and hardworking and he lives in Naggalama-Mukono district. He is still single and dreams of getting married in a few years to come. He intended to start his own business, but didn’t have enough capital after trying to get some money from relatives and friends who had more problems and were not willing to help him out. The little he collected was not enough to start the retail business he wanted.

He heard about Ugafode through a friend, Richard, and became a member. He now wants a loan of 2,800,000 UGX to complete payment of his motorcycle, because his only retail income is not enough if he is to start having a family. He wants to add on the transport business. The business also faces challenges like stiff competition, price fluctuations, and inflation.

Shakibu wants to extend his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the funders for this great support that is improving and changing lives in Mukono district.
