Berna is a 39 year married with five children aged 20, 18, 16, 14 and 17 years. She resides and rents a two roomed house and all her children go to school. Berna takes care of additional family members. There is electricity and no piped water at her home. The family gets three meals a day. She resides and works in an urban area. She incurs extra transport to and from shopping .She operates a retail shop with general merchandise from Kikuubo market. She sells to 20 customers a day.and sells to all categories of people. Berna sells varieties of household goods and works seven days a week. Her major monthly expenses include rent for business and residence, school fees plus medication. She has been in this business for the last ten years Beran has been with MCDT for five years servicing her fourteenth loan, working with the same group mates. She wants to use this loan to stock more merchandise and be able to serve a variety of customers. Berna wants to see her business grow bigger
