Ernest Odera is a 38-year-old man married to Millicent. He is the father of four children ages 3, 8, 9 and 10. To make a living, he makes brake pads and other motor and bicycle rubber fittings from used tires. He has been running this business for about twenty years, next to a motor garage. His clients are mainly people who have their vehicles repaired at the garage, and the mechanics recommend him to their clients thanks to the business rapport that he has created.
He learned about KADET Limited from his neighbor during an informal talk. This will be his first loan and he hopes to use the money to purchase more used tires, and expand his business by employing someone to assist him. He aspires to open a motor spare parts shop, where he would include locally made and cheap rubber products, to serve a wider market segment.
The Kenya Agency for the Development of Enterprise and Technology (KADET) is committed to economically empowering its clients by providing financial services in order to relieve suffering and improve living conditions in communities across Kenya.
