Alexander is married with two children. His family is a typical Ukrainian family of four from Ordzhonikidze. Alexander sells bags, backpacks, clothing and footwear items in the central city market and travels to remote villages to sell his merchandise in small marketplaces there as well. He started his enterprise 7 years ago. Currently, Alexander has about 26,000 Grivnyas in turnover capital. His profit is about 3,900 a month.
Alexander is seeking a loan of 6,500 Grivnyas to increase his stock and sales as a result. He has been in the business long enough to know that the type of inventory he offers is always in demand. This is why Alexander is hoping to keep his business running and even open his own small store someday.
About HOPE Ukraine
HOPE International, a Christian faith-based non-profit organization, has been operating in Ukraine since 1997. HOPE Ukraine was the organization’s first international venture. In addition to its core microfinance activities, HOPE also supports an active children's ministry in Ukraine in the form of “Tomorrow Clubs,” after-school programs that teach children the gospel through games, skits and songs.
