A loan of $1,100 helped to pay for additional food items such as rice, canned food, noodles and sugar for her general store.

Joy's story

Joy is a 26-year-old woman who is married with one child and lives in a community in Honiara, the capital of Solomon Island.

To earn a living, she runs a small general store business in her community selling food items such as canned food, rice, noodles, and sugar, and households items like soap, washing powder and toilet paper. She has been doing this for three years.

Joy has requested a loan to pay for additional food items such as rice, canned food, noodles and sugar so that she can maintain her general store business.

She plans to use her profits to cover her family's weekly expenses, to help provide for her family financially, and to pay her child's school fees.

She has been a member of SPBD since 2015.
