A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase organic fertilizer and herbicides to apply to his corn crops as well as to pay the rent on his land.

Carlos Enrique's story

Carlos has a high school education. He is in a common-law marriage and has two children, but only one of them is attending school. His partner makes her living selling products by catalog.

Carlos is a police officer. He has also been cultivating corn and millet since he was 12 years old. He learned farming from his mother.

He will use the loan to purchase organic fertilizer and herbicides to apply to his corn crops as well as to pay the rent on his land.

His greatest desire is to get his family ahead and purchase land to build his own home because he is currently living on his mother-in-law’s property.
