A loan of $875 helped to purchase fresh fish to process and sell as dried fish.

Paula's story

Paula is the mother of a family. She is 43 years old and lives with her two children that are 10 and 6 years old and with her parents. She lives in the Santa Rosa district, in the “Netamente Pesquera” (Clearly Fishery) zone that is located 25 minutes from the city of Chiclayo.
Paula has worked processing and selling fish for the last 25 years. She buys fresh fish in the fish market in her zone and she processes it so that later her husband can distribute her dried and salted fish. He sells the fish to businesses in the northern mountains of Peru where they don’t have this product on a regular basis.
She depends on this business to sustain her family. Her children study in the school in this zone and her parents are of an advanced age and depend on her.
Paula is asking for a loan from our institution for 2500 new soles that she wishes to use to buy more fish to process and thereby grow her business. She hopes to continue educating her children and secure a better future for them. She also would like to provide her parents with a better quality of life. She has worked with us four times and has demonstrated responsibility and punctuality with her payments. We consider her an excellent customer.
