A loan of $1,500 helped to buy 4 calves for breeding.

Yessenia Marisela's story

Marisela is 30 years old and married. She studied until sixth grade at school. Her husband works in agriculture, and they have two minor children: a 15-year-old girl who's in school, and a 3-year-old boy.

Marisela also works in agriculture and with livestock. Every morning she works in the crops with her husband, and in the afternoons she makes and sells tortillas. She has been selling tortillas for two years now, with her daughter's help. She runs this business from her own home, and she is the only one in the area selling this product.

Marisela is very responsible and hard-working. She has been supported previously with six other Kiva loans for her businesses. She has paid for five of them in full, and she is currently paying for the most recent one on time. She needs a new loan so she can buy 4 calves for breeding.

Marisela's dream is to make improvements to her home and to be able to offer an excellent education to her children.
