A loan of $450 helped to buy plantains, avocados, and macabo [a type of tuber].

Colette's story

Colette is 51 years old, married, and a mother of six children, aged from 14 to 32 years old. Two of the children are in school.

Colette is a merchant in a local market and has sold fresh food for more than 13 years. Due to gaps in her stock, she is unable to fully satisfy her customers.

This is why she seeks a loan. This loan will allow her to buy plantains, avocados, and bags of macabo [a tuber similar to taro root]. This increase in stock will allow her to increase her sales and thus profits.

Profits will be reinvested back into her business to make it sustainable. She will also use profits to support her family's needs.
