A loan of $750 helped to buy fungicides and fertilizer to maintain his cocoa plantation.

Timothee's story

Timothée is a 56-year-old man, married and the father of five children; the oldest is 32 years old. He has lived in a local village for several years with his family. He is a farmer and has owned a three-hectare plantation for 26 years, so he puts all his effort into looking after it.

He wants to increase his production this year, so he needs to clear and spray his field quickly. But he doesn't have the money and he doesn't want to deal with the predatory lenders anymore, who take a large portion of his production, so he can't carry out his projects. Therefore, he just requested this loan to buy 100 packets of fungicide and other inputs to cover all the needs of his plantation. This time, the revenues from the sales will allow him to furnish his house, better maintain his field, and take better care of his family.
