A loan of $350 helped to buy cereals.

Kennedy's story

Meet Kennedy (pictured above in his house with his last born child). He is a very industrious, honest and hardworking farmer from the Bungoma area of Kenya (a post-conflict area).

Kennedy has been farming for the past 10 years. During these years, he has gained much experience and is considered among the best farmers in his village.

Kennedy has been practicing mixed farming. His primary sources of income have been milk, eggs, crops, and some small business ventures that help him make ends meet.

Kennedy is very passionate about farming and loves cultivating his farm. That is why every day he wakes up very early to go to his farm to plow.

Although he makes profits from farming, he has always wanted to increase his income by selling cereals. He is seeking this loan to buy cereals.

Kenya's Bungoma area, one of the county's populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. This means that Kennedy could increase his profits and satisfy the demand that is there.

Accessing funds has been a challenge for Kennedy, but he now feels relieved because Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva lenders to help hardworking farmers like him turn their farming dreams into reality through training and loan financing.

Kennedy will be really grateful for your understanding and support.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals and farming equipment.
