A loan of $500 helped to buy maintenance products for his plantation.

Rene's story

Rene is a 47-year-old married man and father of five children. Four of his children still attend school. He has lived in a village for years with his family and farms; before that, he was a miller after he finished school. He specializes in cocoa-growing and thanks to that he is able to pay for his family's needs. He would like to maintain his plantation better this year to have a good yield. He is requesting a loan so he can buy maintenance products (fungicides and herbicides) in time to improve his yield. The money from the cocoa sales will allow him to buy a motorcycle, improve his family's living conditions and expand his plantation.
