Sarim's story

Living in a rural area located in Pursat province’s Phnom Kro Vanh district, Sarim is a 34-year-old mother of three children. She is a farmer who grow rice and cassava in the local area. She also supplements her family’s income by working for others for a fee. Having been in the business for 12 years, she can make a daily income from her current business of 10 USD and is able to save about 7 USD per day for future needs, after her expenses.

This is Sarim's third loan with Kiva’s partner VisionFund. She is requesting a loan of 3,000,000 KHR from VisionFund to buy fertilizers for her farmland and to plow the rice field. She hopes this loan will enable her to grow her rice. She also hopes to have improved living conditions.
