A loan of $2,200 helped a member to buy more sorghum so that she can make more local soft drinks to sell to her community.


Twikuremubukene-Bikara Group's story

Jacqueline is 31 years old. She is married and has 3 children. Her oldest child is 11 years old.

Jacqueline has had a local soft drink business for the last 10 years. Through VisionFund Rwanda, Jacqueline has requested a loan from Kiva in order to buy more sorghum, which she will use to make more local soft drinks to sell. With the profits generated, she will be able to to buy land for cultivation.

The main challenge she faces in her business is the high lack of market. Over the next years, as her business continues to grow, Jacqueline hopes to earn enough money to purchase more sorghum to make local soft drinks to sell. She hopes to save for her future as well.
