A loan of $550 helped a member to buy more fertilizer and rice seed for her farming.

Khen's Group's story

A local farmer living in Kampot province, Khen is 56 years old and a windowed mother of four children. For her living, she is growing rice which is the main source of her family’s income. She has been involved with her farming for 27 years and it has helped her to keep up about 4 USD per day for future needs.

Her biggest challenge is that she can not get a good yield from her rice farm because of a lack of water. This is the sixth loan cycle for Khen with VisionFund and her past loans have already been paid back on time.

She was able to provide decent home appliances for her family to use via the previous loans. In a group of three members, she is the group leader. She will use her entire loan portion to buy more fertilizer and rice seed for her farming so her crops to grow well.

Khen hopes that she can gain a higher yield and get a better income than before.
