Mao's Group's story

A resident of Ponhea Krek district of Tbaung Khmum province, Cambodia, Mao is 35 years old. She has been growing rice, black pepper, and cassava for many years. She has four children, two of whom she still supports. Through her farming operation, she is able to earn just enough income to cover the family’s living expenses and save a little for future needs.

She is now forming a group to apply for a loan via VisionFund. This is her second loan cycle. She will use this loan to to buy a plot of farmland in order to expand her farming area. She will also use some of the loan to pay for a plowing fee. She hopes to earn more income in order to improve her family’s living conditions.
