The two people shown in the picture here are Mrs. Khoeun S. and her husband. Khoeun S. is a 27-year-old farmer who lives in Pursat Province. She is married to Mr. Moa Tit, age 26, who works with her in the farming business. He also takes time to find firewood in the forest for income.

This couple currently owns a medium-sized stall that they use for raising pigs and cows. During the coming farming season when the heavy rains immediately begin falling down, that is the best time for Khoeun S. to begin growing her crops. Due to their lack of capital, Khoeun S. would like a loan of US$ 1200 from Kiva’s partner HKL. She will be using her loan to buy two cows in order to alleviate her hard labor on the farm and to buy fertilizer and seed for planting. In the future, she proposes to breed her cows for their young.
