Mariatu's story

Mariatu is a 35-year-old married woman with three children between the ages of 10 and 14. All three of them are currently attending school. She started her business because she wants to educate her children.

Mariatu established a fast food and drink business around the Waterloo community. She sells acheke, cold soft drinks, water, etc. Mariatu started her business nine years ago and works for eight hours per day and six days a week. Her main challenge faced by the business is the transportation of her commodity from the market.

Mariatu requested this loan through BRAC MF to purchase more oil, rice, pepper, potatoes, plantains, gari, macaroni, Irish potatoes, mayonnaise, ketchup, fish, water, and drinks. She says that the extra income from this loan will help her to improve her life and her family.

She would like see her business grow in to a big restaurant. She thanks Brac and Kiva for their support.
