Alejandra is 33 years old. She has four children and her husband works in the maize fields. She makes corn "tostadas" and sells them in San Cristobal de las Casas which is about an hour away from where she lives. She also sells her produce with people that know her and request orders. She is part of a solidarity group called Mar3 integrated by: Laura Gonzalez Zuñiga, who sells female cosmetics, creams and perfumes and Margarita Zuñiga Ton, who sells shoes to people from her town. Alejandra would use the loan to purchase more firewood and corn. Laura and Alejandra get their supplies wholesale in order to decrease costs.
