Benkadi 2 De (benkadi Fofodiana) Group

AMI BARRY, SALI KONATE , BAGNEBA TRAORE , AWA BADIE DIARRA , AMI DIARRA , DADI SANOGO , BINTOU TRAORE , MAMOU COULIBALY , FATOUMATA SANGARE , MAMA TRAORE

The ten members of the group BENKADI 2 are married women who average 33 years of age and 5 children. They live for the most part in polygamous families in the village of FOFODIANA, in the community of Tingolé, sub-prefecture of FANA (2nd administrative region of the Republic of Mali).

They are collaborating with the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso with the goal of obtaining financial support to carry out their winter-time work, which revolves around growing sorghum, peanuts, and beans. They are on their fifth experience with the institution. All the past loans were repaid without any difficulties at all.

With this new loan, they intend to buy fertilizer, herbicide, and minor farm supplies and equipment and to cover the cost of weeding and labor for maintaining 22 hectares.

A portion of their production is for their own consumption. The other portion is sold to customers composed of men and women at the marketplaces of Tingolé, Marka-Coungo, and Fana.

The group members plan on realizing an average profit of 50,000 francs CFA after the planting season.

Les dix membres du groupe BENKADI 2 sont des femmes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 33 ans, 5 enfants et vivant la plupart dans des familles polygames dans le village de FOFODIANA, commune de Tingolé, sous préfecture de FANA, 2ème région administrative de la république du Mali.
Elles collaborent avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso dans le but d’avoir un soutien financier pour la réalisation de leurs activités hivernales. Leurs activités sont axées sur la culture du sorgho de l’arachide et du haricot. Elles sont à leur cinquième expérience avec l’institution et tous les prêts passés ont été remboursés sans aucune difficulté.
Avec ce nouveau prêt, elles comptent acheter de l’engrais, de l’herbicide, des petits matériels agricoles et payer les frais de sarclage et de labour pour entretenir 22 hectares.
Une partie de leur production est auto consommée et l’autre partie est vendue sur les marchés de Tingolé, de Marka-Coungo et de Fana à une clientèle composée d’hommes et de femmes.
Elles comptent réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 50 000FCFA après la campagne.
