Marcelinda J. is a 45-year old rice grower in Veruela, Agusan Del Sur. She has four children and a supportive husband who manages their farm. Her hopes and plans for the future is to have another area for rice. She also mentioned the education of her children and providing them a bright future.
Marcelinda wants a loan to buy seedlings, complete fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides. Because she was very worried about where is she going to look for money to finance her business, when she learned about the CEVI credit program, she never hesitated to apply for a small amount. which is really what she needs for her business operations.
Now she attends the CEVI cluster meetings which are managed by CEVI borrowers. They elect officers in their organizations. In their gathering, they learn about community business and savings, in addition to loans, training and the insurance coverage that they received.
