William
William (far left) is pictured here with his father and nephew at the original Gentle Parking location.

“Owning my own business is a vehicle to help. I work with all local businesses and I like to help grow the local economy.”

William is the owner of Gentle Parking, a parking lot management company located in San Francisco, CA. After working in the parking services industry for over ten years, William was excited to start his own business and, in just one year, is already expanding by opening a new lot location. He currently has six employees and hopes to continue providing jobs to the community by growing his business.

William’s credit was severely affected by the recent economic downturn, and finding financing for his business has been nearly impossible. This is his 2nd loan with Opportunity Fund, and the money will help purchase the insurance he needs to keep Gentle Parking in business.

Gentle Parking is an eco-friendly company. All of the parking booths are made out of reclaimed materials and run on solar energy. They also recycle everything from old parking tickets to rubber bands. William is also very focused on helping to grow the local economy and he works with local companies whenever possible. By staying local, William is able to keep costs lower and pass the savings on to his customers who enjoy a lower rate than at competing lots.

Gentle Parking is the sole income for William’s family of 5.
